Q: The ActiveSync
window on my desktop computer says "Connected", but when I try to install the application to my
Pocket PC, it says "No Pocket PC Connected".
A: Check to see if you have ZoneAlarm firewall
software. If you do, disable it, and try installing the Pocket PC app again.
If it still does not work, try checking
the rules in the firewall software to see if there is a rule
that's blocking PocketMap Data Manager or CEAppManager.
If you have McAfee, check the "Internet Applications" rules, and set the PocketMap Data
Manager and CEAppManager rules to "Allow All".
If you are not sure if you have ZoneAlarm, and you have Windows 2000/XP,
you can check under Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services to see
if there is a service called "TrueVector Internet Monitor". If there is,
then you probably have ZoneAlarm installed. Go into the ZoneAlarm Manager
to configure a rule for PocketMap Data Manager and CEAppManager.
